Interiors + Home Decorating with Amazon

Ahh, the glory of Amazon.com. I’m all about convenience and efficiency; that may or may not mean 70% of my online consumption is derived from Amazon Prime. I recently moved to a new apartment, and to my surprise amazon prime has been instrumental to the decorating process. With Prime Day upon us, I’ve rounded up all my recent amazon home buys + some pieces I have my eye on. Whether or not you’re decorating, it’s always fun to give your space a refresh, even if that means something as simple as a new vase (or two).

The easiest way to make a dramatic improvement to a fairly blank room is a rug.

I’ve loved the look of a super rich red persian rug since I was a kid. My mom had a persian rug in every room, and since then they’ve always seemed like an essential piece to complete/create a defined design to a space. There’s a lot of speculation surrounding authenticity of persian rugs in the US markets, so instead of dropping $$$ on something that may not even be real, I decided to scour the internet for a decent replica - cue amazon:

I was honestly BEYOND impressed with the quality of this one.

Next up was my living space. The shell of my apartment features dark wood floors, grey cabinets, white walls, and off white counters. We decided to play up these neutrals, with cream, grey, and black accents with an indigo sectional for a bit of color. We went for a creamy cowhide rug with grey accents and it really anchored the space. I also grabbed some natural White Onyx Coasters that make for a minimal basic that’s ever-so slightly elevated. Sitting on top is a basic candle, just to add a bit of height to the ensemble.

I’m obsessed with plants/flowers, and how effortlessly they bring life to any room. Vases and planters are an easy way to throw in some functional decor. Because I’m particularly in love with exotic stems, I’m always looking for a good stem vase. I also picked up some mesmerizingly fluffy pampas grass as an easy no maintenance option.

Organization is essential to decor that is clean & easy on the eye. These easy glass cases are perfect for tabletop storage or to use as props. Trays also make for perfect tabletop decor; you can use them for serving too. I picked up these gold ones for our bedside tables.

These may not be that cute, but they’re the perfect way to hide your extra stuff. They work under couches & beds. I mainly use them for tucking away seasonal items like comforters, blankets, sweaters, and random travel accessories.

I’m probably super late to this party but wireless charging is life changing. This one is so sleek, it’s barely even noticeable. Speaking of sleek, i’ve been obsessing over this electric kettle for months & finally caved. As someone who hates overly cluttered kitchen surfaces, oddly enough, I’m actually looking forward to having this on the counter.

I haven’t picked up this gorg dutch oven yet so i’m praying for a prime day miracle. Another one i wouldn't mind sitting out on the stove.

Coffee Table books also make for pretty functional decor. I’m a travel buff, so the Cereal Magazine city guides are top of my list at the moment. Kinfolk also has some great options. If you’re into Art, Amazon sells a bunch of Taschen books that are also worth a browse.
